Wongchhu Sherpa Memorial Hospital is committed to delivering excellent emergency care, and our helipad services are an essential part of that effort. The hospital’s on-site helipad enables speedy and efficient air transport, ensuring patients with urgent medical conditions, including maternity emergencies, receive timely interventions, day or night.
So far, two emergency cases have been successfully rescued via helicopter from remote areas and brought to our facility for immediate care.
In addition, the Government of Nepal provides free helicopter rescue services for pregnant women during labor in remote and hard-to-reach areas. This life-saving initiative helps reduce maternal and infant mortality by ensuring access to proper medical facilities when time and distance are critical.
Our helipad is equipped to handle emergency evacuations and transfers with precision and safety, helping transport patients quickly from isolated regions to facilities that provide specialized care. This reduces delays and allows the WSMH team to deliver urgent and life-saving treatments when every second matters.
