At Wongchu Sherpa Memorial Hospital, we are committed to delivering essential and quality healthcare services to the people of Tapting and surrounding areas in alignment with the Minimum Service Standards (MSS) issued by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), Government of Nepal.
To ensure continuous improvement and accountability, the Nepal Government conducts MSS assessments every 6 months through a joint evaluation team comprising provincial and central health officials. These assessments provide valuable insight into service delivery performance, infrastructure gaps, human resource needs, and overall service quality.
MSS Assessment Framework
The MSS evaluation is divided into three major sections, each with specific weightage:
- Governance and Management Standards – 20% Weightage
- Covers hospital leadership, human resources, financial systems, information management, and quality assurance practices.
- Clinical Service Management Standards – 60% Weightage
- Evaluates essential clinical services such as outpatient care, emergency, maternity, surgery, diagnostics, pharmacy, and inpatient services.
- Hospital Support Services Standards – 20% Weightage
Focuses on facility support services such as sterilization, housekeeping, waste management, water supply, maintenance, safety, and communication systems.

Our Latest Assessment
Our most recent MSS assessment was conducted on 4 July 2025, and we achieved an overall MSS score of 65%, meeting the government benchmark for a Primary Hospital. Regular six-monthly evaluations not only strengthen our commitment to service but also help us move toward higher quality healthcare delivery for all.
