Message from Chief Medical Officer

A team of experienced doctors and associates

It has been nearly 3 years since I began working at this remarkable hospital, established through the kindness and generosity of many compassionate individuals from around the world. I am truly honored to be part of the noble legacy of the late Mr. Wongchhu Sherpa.

Above all, I have developed a deep admiration for this place and for the warm, kind-hearted people of Tapting. I take immense pride in serving my community and contributing to the well-being of my own people. I am fully aware of the challenges faced by individuals in remote areas, particularly the struggle to access quality healthcare and afford medical expenses.

With that in mind, I always make every effort—through consultations, continued learning, and sincere dedication—to provide the best possible treatment within this hospital, so that patients do not have to seek expensive care elsewhere. Despite limited resources, I give my best to treat every patient with compassion, knowledge, and wholehearted care. I am truly grateful to be part of this institution, where everyone is united in their commitment to serve others with kindness and to work tirelessly for the betterment of humanity.

From time to time, we also host clinical rotations for international medical and healthcare professionals from around the world. These programs offer valuable opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, collaborative decision-making, and shared learning — all with the goal of providing the best possible care for our patients. In addition to the professional experience, participants also have the chance to immerse themselves in the rich culture and breathtaking natural beauty of this region. I warmly invite you to join us and gain a truly unique, life-changing experience in the practice of medicine in the remote regions of Nepal.”

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors and supporters who have made this journey possible. Your contributions have brought hope and healing to so many lives. We sincerely thank you and look forward to your continued support in the years to come.

Dr. Gyaltsen Gurung
